About Gosford Yoga and Meditation Centre

SATYANANDA YOGA TRADITION teaching day and night classes, with practices,in relaxation postures,breathing and meditation for beginners through to experienced students.

The Centre is well established and has been offering yoga to the community for over 30 years. The centre is also well known to many of the health professionals on the Central Coast who refer clients to classes.

Gosford is able to offer a number of different times for people to attend classes and so cater for the needs of students with a range of work and family commitments etc. If a student is unable to attend a course they are booked into they can ring the centre and arrange another more suitable time.

Other activities
The Centre also offers one-day weekend workshops e.g. Relax, Retreat, Recharge; Internal Cleansing Practices; Nada Yoga; Meditation; Stress Management.

Apart from classes listed in the newsletter, teachers are available to give private classes and run classes/workshops for groups e.g. corporate and community organisations.

Publications.
Satyananda Yoga publications and yoga accessories are available from the centre.

The Teachers
The teachers are skilled at teaching the integral system of yoga that Satyananda Yoga is famous for and are continually upgrading their yogic knowledge both in Australia and overseas at Bihar Yoga Bharati University.

They have yoga teaching experience in many different areas, e.g., teaching in schools, aged care centres, drug and alcohol units.

Monday 9.30am 1.5hrs Intro 2
      Having completed Introductory level 1. Within become “aware” of flexibility and strength that is developing through the postures. Build on breathing practices already learnt, deepen your experience of yoganidra. 
Monday 5.30pm 30min Satyananda Yoga Nidra®
      This is a systematic ˝ hour practice of deep relaxation which is used for releasing stress and tensions that have accumulated in the mind, body and emotions during the day or week. An excellent stress buster 
Monday 6.30pm 1.5hrs Intro 2
      For those who have completed one or more base yoga classes. 
Tuesday 9.30am 1.5hrs Prog Intro
      The focus is on developing a deeper awareness of the effects of static and dynamic asanas, gaining insight into the pranayamas and yoganidra. Esablishing inner space and self. 
Tuesday 5.30pm 1.5 Destressing with Yoga
      Managing stress is something we need to consider these days to keep our body, mind and nervous system strong, healthy and relaxed. A combination of yogic practices and simple relaxation will give you the opportunity to achieve this. 
Tuesday 7.15pm 1.5hrs General
      Suitable for Experienced students. 
Wednesday 6.15am 1.5hrs Early Morning Yoga
      An auspicious time of day for practicing your asana, pranayama and meditation. 
Wednesday 9.30am 1.5hrs Intro 1
      BASE YOGA CLASS FOR NEW STUDENTS. Foundation postures that loosen the joints, oxygenates the blood, stretches and tones muscles. Introduction to breathing practices that harmonises mind, nerve and body function, all are preparation for deep relaxation. 
Wednesday 6.00pm 1.5hrs Intro 1
      Base Yoga Class. 
Thursday 10am 1.5hrs Postnatal
      Interactive for mums and their babies. Toning stretching and relaxing your way back to fitness and good health. 
Thursday 5.30pm 1.5hrs Prog Intro

Thursday 7.30pm 1 hr Managing Lower Back Pain
      These Yoga practices are designed to address ongoing issues of Lower Back Pain. There are many reasons for Lower Back Pain, but to have improved back function is something to aim for. Not to be practiced when condition is acute. 
Saturday 9am 1.5hrs General
      For students of all levels.  
Saturday 11am 1.5hrs Prenatal
      Postures, breathing and deep relaxation. Promotes health & wellbeing during your pregnancy & labor. Classes designed to your needs. Suitable for all stages. 
Saturday 5.30pm 1hr Universal Healing Mantra Havan & Kirtan
      Chanting mantras an offering to the fire and healing within, followed by Kirtan,to open the heart. All are welcome.A free program.
