About Hobart Yoga and Meditation Centre Tasmania

Satyananda Yoga came to Tasmania in the 1970s. Today Hobart Yoga and Meditation Centre Hobart is run by a group of dedicated yoga teachers and practitioners who take joy in passing on the teachings of Satyananda Yoga to others. Located a five minute drive from Hobart’s CBD, HYMC is used solely for the teaching and practice of yoga. The Yoga Centre has a calm and peaceful atmosphere and one feels a sense of harmony and well-being simply from being there.

HYMC has its own building amidst the grounds of Buckingham Bowls Club. Classes happen in a lovely light-filled yoga room looking out over the bowling greens. There is also an office with a small yoga shop and library.

Office hours are:
Mondays 9:00-2:00pm
Wednesdays 9:00-4:00pm
Thursdays 9:00-3:00pm
Fridays 9:00-2:00pm

HYMC also offers yoga classes in workplaces, factories and schools and outreach classes in Greater Hobart. We welcome enquiries about customized programs designed for the needs of particular groups.

In addition to yoga classes, HYMC regularly hosts special events including workshops, retreats and seminars with local and interstate experts on yoga. Kirtan (the singing of mantra to music) is held regularly at the Centre.
