IYFM was founded in 1956 by Swami Satyananda as a vehicle for spreading yogic knowledge from 'door to door and shore to shore'. IYFM provides guidance and sets standards for yoga schools, centres and ashrams around the world. Today, IYFM has become a global community which unites, inspires and coordinates the family of practitioners who propagate Bihar Yoga/Satyananda Yoga all over the world.
Founded in 1963 in Munger, India to teach yoga to mainstream society and provide a focal point for the global revival of the ancient science of yoga. The teachings imparted are a synthesis of many yogic approaches to personal development, based on vedantic and tantric teachings used in conjunction with contemporary physical and mental health sciences. BSY programs are applied in education, prisons, hospitals, the defence services and private and public sector industries. BSY teachers travel India and the world conducting yoga seminars, workshops and lecture tours.
Bihar Yoga Bharati is an Institute for Advanced Studies in Yogic Sciences, established in 1994 by Swami Niranjanananda at Munger, India to preserve and regenerate the yogic sciences by combining academic and scientific methodology with a spiritual vision. This gurukul based institute offers training in yogic studies, specialising in the areas of yoga philosophy, yoga psychology, applied yogic science and yoga ecology, granting certificates and diplomas in these subjects. The gurukul environment allows students to imbibe the important yogic principles of seva (service), samarpan (dedication) and karuna (compassion). Satellite academies around the world, such as SYA in Australia, help spread these teachings from shore to shore. For more details see Yogic Studies.

Previously known as Rikhia Ashram, in November 2006, Swami Satyananda announced that hereforth it would be known as Rikhipeeth and be a philanthropic institution and modern day gurukul. The aim of Rikhiapeeth is to disseminate the ancient spiritual knowledge as propogated by the vedic lineage of rishis in the Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas to all, regardless of caste, creed, nationality, gender or religion.

The Academy is the communication point with Bihar Yoga Bharati and IYFM and oversees the development of Satyananda Yoga in the Australasian region. It aims to meet the highest international standards in training & learning of yogic disciplines and the practical experience of yogic lifestyle. It provides a system of accreditation for Satyananda Yoga teachers and supports them in the operation of their teaching businesses through an affiliation system.
Do not brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill your mind with grief, regret and depression. Do not repeat them in the future.
