Deepening Sadhana: Tattwa Shuddhi and New Year retreat

5 nights (starts at 5pm on Tuesday and concludes at 3pm on Sunday)

As you explore the journey of inner purification you are able to witness mental and emotional blocks and work to remove them.

Led by master teacher and yoga ambassador Swami Satyadharma, this five day retreat is an auspicious start to the year. Tattwa Shuddhi is the 'purification of elements' and is a tantric science of inner purification. The elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether are not only in the outer universe but are also part of your inner universe.

The daily program will include guidance through asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation. Registration for this retreat includes our annual New Year's celebration of kirtan and midnight havan.

Appropriate for those with a regular practice, this course includes long periods of sitting (chairs and stools are available for those who have trouble sitting).

Easter at Mangrove - 40th Birthday Celebrations

18-21 April 2014: Long weekend (5pm Friday to 3pm Monday) FULL - No more bookings

Celebrate the birth and evolution of the largest yoga ashram in the Southern hemisphere.

Mangrove Yoga Ashram warmly invites you to join our 40th anniversary celebrations over a relaxed Easter long weekend.

The 40th anniversary celebrations are an opportunity to bring together the people who have helped build, sustain and nurture this unique place of sadhana. The program and activities will acknowledge and celebrate the past, present and future of the ashram, a place that is known as a haven of peace, tranquility and inspiration.

In the history of Mangrove there have been times of great difficulty. Such an occasion is the right time to acknowledge this past. For this purpose a program will be held to nurture healing, allow reflection and guide us towards greater commitment and positivity on the yogic path.

With Easter drawing near it's time for a sneak peek at the joys on offer at Mangrove.

Come and enjoy sessions on Tattwa shuddhi, Chakras & Kundalini, Chakra shuddhi, Prana vidya, Nada yoga and much more, presented by Rishi Hridayananda, Rishi Vivekananda, Swami Muktibodhananda, Rishi Nityabodhananda, Rishi Yoga Diwali, Swami Satyadharma, Swami Shankardev & Swami Muktimurti.

A variety of yoga nidras, including prana nidra and musical yoga nidra.

A choice of early morning class:

    · Relax & Rejuvenate with Gyanmurti
    · Challenging Yoga class with Swami Kriyatmananda
    · Yoga as a Spiritual Practice with Swami Ahimsadhara

    Acknowledgment Day

Easter Sunday, 20 April, 1.30pm onwards

Easter Sunday will be dedicated to all those who have been affected by the abuse that unfortunately occurred at Mangrove more than 25 years ago.

On this day we will commit to a journey of healing by fully acknowledging the past and the effect it had and continues to have on individuals and on the organisation as a whole. We would then like to collectively step forward into a future based on truth, trust, compassion and care. Following the afternoon program there will be a Mahamrityunjaya havan for healing, and a tree planting to represent this fresh start through which we can all grow. For more information, read here.

Everyone is welcome to attend for personal healing or to add their support and recognition.

The day is being given as prasad, an offering for goodwill. Participants are welcome to arrive early for lunch and/or stay for dinner. For those staying overnight, see below.

    10 nights (5pm Wed to 3pm Sat)
    with Swami Satyadharma

The 9 days and nights of Navaratri symbolize the victory of higher, divine forces over lower, negative qualities. This is a victory festival filled with mantra, yantra and havan offered to the divine Mother in her various shakti forms.

On the first three days Durga's transformative aspect is celebrated. Use the transformative power of Durga to destroy all your impurities, vices and defects.

The creative aspect of Lakshmi is adored for the middle three days. As the provider of spiritual wealth, Lakshmi is considered to have the power of bestowing on her devotees the inexhaustible wealth.

During the final three days Saraswati's aspect as the goddess of knowledge and wisdom is invoked. In order have all-round success in life we need the blessings of all three aspects of the divine mother.

Nature is in transition at this time of the year and the body and mind also undergo a metamorphosis. Sincere sadhana and positive restraint through body, mind and speech during this time results in vital health and spiritual strength.

Join master teacher Swami Satyadharma as she officiates over Navaratri, considered to be one of the most auspicious times for spiritual sadhana (yoga practice).

The program includes a variety of daily practices:
    · Building the rice yantra for each devi
    · Chanting of mantra and kirtan
    · Havan
    · Guided meditation
    · Deep yoga nidra

If you can be where you are, and accept things as they are, in that personal adjustment with the environment, with the conditions, states, different forms of behaviour, mentalities, attitudes and actions, you experience a very deep feeling of santosha, contentment, which is the achievement of karma yoga.
